We will be based in Bhaltos on the west coast of Lewis, this beautiful location is a must see.  Bright white beaches, huge rock arches, turquoise waters, incredible wildlife, all against a backdrop of mountainous terrain.

A 6 day trip including 4 full days of kayaking with a maximum of 6 people per trip.  The trip includes 4 full days of kayaking within a 6 day window.  This enables us to choose the best days for kayaking based on the weather forecast and gives you two days to explore the area or rest.  It also includes your guide and kayaking equipment.

We will be staying at Kneep campsite situated on a long stretching white sandy beach.  We recommend joining us there in your campervan/motor home or renting one of the various holiday homes nearby.  We are recommending that you do not stay in a tent unless you are used to camping in changeable conditions and have a tent that can withstand 'real' weather.  The temperature is cooler and the weather is very changeable.

We have chosen this area as it is sheltered from a lot of the Atlantic swell and gives lots of different trip options from one area whatever the weather.  The island has many gems to explore, hence we are asking that you have access to transport to enable A to B trips, and for us to make the most of the time you have in order to experience the variety of kayaking that is on offer.  We will transport the boats you will just need to transport yourselves. These will be a maximum drive of about 30min.

These trips are suitable for those that have spent 3 or more days in a sea kayak before.  If you are unsure as to whether this trip is for you do give us a call to discuss it.   Please note that for complete beginners we offer 3 day trips in the Isles of Scilly in May/June each year.

How to get there: take a ferry from Ullapool to Stornaway on the Isle of Lewis and drive 50min across to the west of the island to Kneep.  Alternatively take more time out to explore the islands and begin with a ferry from Oban and drive up from Barra including a few more ferry crossings and awesome islands before reaching the area of Bhaltos where we will be based.
Our qualified and very experienced guides work under the professional bodies of British Canoeing, they create a relaxed and fun environment in which to learn and improve.

Itinerary
Day One - we will meet at 10am at Kneep campsite to give you your kayaking kit and make a plan for the week.  The exact trip plans will be tailored around the weather with the aim of exploring the area over four days of kayaking.  We should also have a rough idea of which two days to pick as rest days in the 6 day trip period.  This flexibility enables us to increase the probability of paddling for four days.  The weather can be changeable in this dramatic location and although we have chosen a location that provides shelter in certain wind and swell conditions we are at the mercy of mother nature.

Days Two, Three and Four -   We will meet at 10am giving you time to have breakfast and prepare snacks and lunch to bring with you for the day.  We will provide a suggested kit list with hints and tips for your trip upon booking.

Make sure you book your ferry home for 'Day Seven' at the earliest or you may miss your last day of kayaking.

The cost includes your tuition/guiding fee and kayaking kit (boat, spray deck, paddle, buoyancy aid, cag, helmet and long john wetsuit).

When paying you have the choice to pay a non-refundable £100 deposit or to pay in full. There is a small booking fee.

Other costs to be booked and paid for separately by you:
 - Ferry
 - Accommodation
 - Food

If you want to check if you are the right ability for the four day trips just call us for a chat.
Do get in contact if you have any questions.
